S.M.I.L.E Program stands for Single Mom’s in Life Education. The dorm and daycare center is for mothers who are dealing with life destructive behaviors related to addiction. Our primary goal is to provide a safe, loving Christian environment in which mothers build their self-esteem and learn who they are in Christ. They begin to build a life for a future as a mature Christian mother. It is our desire to keep children with their mothers and out of the foster care system. Mothers living in the S.M.I.L.E dorm will have the opportunity to go through an intensive recovery program, Christ centered discipleship classes, learn life skills, and take parenting classes. They are also able to gain employment while their children are safely cared for in our childcare center knowing that they will be together at the end of the day.

Many applicants choose not to enter treatment due to a lack of childcare resources. Often, the mother will try to care for her children in active addiction and end up in the DFACS system.

We are excited and wish to convey our heartfelt thanks to FREE CHAPEL who gave $153,000. SISTERS OF PROVIDENCE who gave $30,000 and the volunteers who gave their time and talents to make it all happen.
